Remembering the Ancient Egyptian Mystery Schools

In modern times, people remember Ancient Egypt because there is so much evidence of their advanced civilization.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, many thousands of examples of art, architecture, advanced agricultural systems, weapons, boats, tombs, and temples with complex religious structures were excavated and brought to light by mostly European explorers and archaeologists.

For the first time in thousands of years, human eyes and minds experienced the creations of the ancient Khemitians.

Khemitians?

That was the name of the ancient Egyptian people in their own language.

Egypt is the Greek name for the land that rests along the banks of the Nile River in North Africa.

Khemet, or “Black Land”, was the local name for the land.

They called it the “black land” because every year the Nile River would flood it’s banks and deposit healthy, nutrient-rich soil all throughout the Nile river valley.

The Nile River Delta, where ancient Memphis and Modern-day Cairo stand, was particularly rich farmland, and would produce incredible amounts of food.

The ancient Khemetians lived along the Nile river for many thousands of years, passing both culture and farmland from generation to generation.

Indeed the modern Egyptians never left the banks of the Nile, and live there to this day.

The modern farmers work on the same plots of land that could have been used many thousands of years before Jesus Christ walked the Earth.

The ancient Khemetians were skilled artisans and craftsmen. They also were adept warriors and temple-builders.

Many of their creations have stood the test of time.

The greatest examples are the Pyramids of the Giza plateau.

The great pyramid of Giza is the oldest and last remaining Wonder of the Ancient world.

The pyramid has relatively maintained its shape and design, despite many thousands of years of weather, earthquakes, and other natural forces that regularly break down man’s creations.

It is certain that the ancient Khemetians were master builders and were highly aware of Nature’s ways.

They shared their knowledge of Nature and Creation in formal, prestigious universities that are known in modern times as the Mystery Schools.

The Mystery Schools were housed in Temples made of stone, and many of the buildings are still around.

Kom ombo temple, the Isis temple at Philae, and the temple of Horus at Edfu are a few examples of temples that housed mystery schools.

Anyone who wished to become a Priest or Priestess in ancient Khemet had to learn the teachings of the mystery schools before being considered for priesthood.

The process of learning the many facets of Nature and Creation took many years and required total commitment of the student.

Lessons were taught incrementally and over a long period of time.

Challenges, tests, and opportunities to prove that the knowledge was understood were fundamental to the teachings. The student could not progress to a more advanced knowledge, unless they were capable of passing the test of individual lessons.

Many students would never progress beyond certain levels of understanding, and as such, were cast out of the Mystery schools and had to return to everyday society.

The students who did understand the lessons being taught to them, however, would move on to greater, more complex teachings, by leaving the temple and moving on to the next mystery school.

There was a progression of knowledge, from basic, to complex, and then to Mysterious.

The basic lessons imbued the student with a working knowledge of the ways of their physical body.

The complex lessons would teach the student of the ways of their mind and individual soul.

The mysterious teachings would grant the student access to the inner workings of the Spirit, or collective soul of humanity.

The student who learned all of the teachings would be free to explore the Universe and their selves in ways unknown to most modern people.

A graduate of the mystery schools’ abilities may seem miraculous, or impossible to modern man.

Clairvoyance, prophecy-making, miraculous Healing, and the ability to return to Life after Death are a few examples of what is possible to the graduate of the mystery schools.

Many of the gifted Masters throughout history were trained in the ancient Mystery Schools.

It is widely theorized that during Jesus Christ’s “missing 18 years” before his return to Judea, the Master was learning the lessons of the Ancient mystery schools.

Many Kabbalah teachings and other Jewish mystical work can trace their origins to teachings of the ancient mystery schools.

The Pharaohs of ancient Egypt were all trained in the mystery schools. The knowledge taught to them was considered the key to maintaining their power and ability to rule over others.

Clearly, the knowledge taught in the ancient mystery schools was powerful and capable of changing the human experience in big ways.

The knowledge was considered Sacred and Divine, and was kept secret from common people.

It was known that if the sacred knowledge was misused or abused, that great calamity and chaos would surely follow.

The secret knowledge left the boundaries of the Nile River, and has spread to every corner of the Earth.

In modern times, the name “Alchemy” was given to the teachings of the mystery schools.

Alchemy, or Al-khem-y, is the collective knowledge from ancient Khemet, and is taught to millions of people through books, the Internet, and orally through teachers.

The ancient Egyptian mystery schools never vanished from the Earth, They still live on through individuals sharing knowledge and secrets with one another.

On a side note, Sintra, Portugal is a community in which Alchemy was taught to the royalty of Medieval Europe.

There is much evidence of this to be found in the Palaces and gardens scattered about town. Alchemical symbols, initiation wells, and Alchemy laboratories can be found and explored to this day.
